Parish Trip to Downpatrick: Saturday 19th September. Bus leaves @ 9am. Day includes stop at St Patrick’s Centre for IMAX video of St Patrick followed by early lunch; Visit to Down Cathedral and St Patrick’s Grave and then on to Saul for Mass in St Patrick’s Church. Final stop at Slieve Patrick before bus leaves around 4pm for return to Belfast Cost: £40 per person.

Back to school Prayer Dear Lord, as our students begin a new school year, we pray that you will keep them in your care. Send your Spirit to open their minds to all that is true, beautiful and good. Help them to see the gifts and talents you have given them, and to use them well. Help them to grow in knowledge and wisdom. Help them be kind to others, and lead others to be kind to them. Give their teachers patience and understanding, and help them teach what is just and true. Send your angels to guide and guard our children, and to keep them from all harm. Open their young hearts to your presence, and enfold them in your peace and protection. Hold them in the palm of your hand, and bring them home safely at day’s end. Amen.

WHAT’S ON…
Thinking about becoming Catholic or want to deepen your understanding of the faith? The Diocesan RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a journey of faith, formation, and community for adults who wish to explore the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. It is open to those who are not baptised, those baptised in another Christian tradition, or Catholics who wish to reconnect with their faith. The 2025–2026 programme begins on Wednesday 1st October and runs weekly from 6.30–8.00 pm at St Mary’s Hall, Chapel Lane, Belfast. Sessions include prayer, teaching, discussion, and time for questions. Spouses, fiancés or friends are welcome to attend alongside participants.All are welcome, whether you are exploring faith for the first time or returning after some time away. ‘Embrace the Grace’ Young Adult Catholic Conference – 29 August 2026 – Legion of Mary ‘Embrace the Grace’ is a conference on faith and culture for young adults (18-40) with talks, prayer, Mass, confession, workshops, food and social in the historic Legion of Mary headquarters at De Montfort House, North Brunswick Street, Dublin 7. It will be a chance to build faith in friendship with young adults from across the country. This event takes place on Saturday 29 August from 9.30am to 6.00pm with a social afterward. Tickets cost €20 and can be booked on the eventbrite website by looking up ‘Embrace the Grace’. Any queries can be directed towards deusetpatria@gmail.com.

Catholic Men’s Retreat – Standing in the Breach
A Catholic Men’s Retreat will take place at Portglenone Monastery on Saturday 19 September 2026, from 9am to 1pm.
The theme of the retreat is “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Galatians 2:20).
The morning will include prayer, teaching, fellowship and men’s testimonies, with Fr Eddie McGee as keynote speaker.
