FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION A Vigil Mass for the Feast of the Assumption will be celebrated on Friday 14th August at 7.00pm, with Mass on the Feast Day at 1.00pm on Saturday 15th August.
24 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration – Feast of the Assumption To honour the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, the Legion of Mary is organising 24 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration in St Agnes’ Church. Adoration will begin following the 7.00pm Vigil Mass on Friday, 14th August, and will continue throughout the night and the following day, concluding before the 6.30pm Vigil Mass on Saturday, 15th August .St Theresa of Calcutta described time spent with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament as “the best time you will spend on earth.” Everyone is warmly invited to come, spend some time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, and give thanks to Our Lady and her Son, Jesus.

FLEADH CHEOIL NA hÉIREANN. Coming to Belfast this weekend until 9th August 2026. The city will be welcoming many visitors to this event. For a full
programme of events, visit fleadhcheoil.ie. As part of the festivities, Mass will be celebrated in Irish by Bishop Alan McGuckin, in St Patrick’s church on Sunday 9th at 11am. All welcome.
Andersonstown Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will hold an Open Public Meeting for all those interested in the problem of alcoholism. Venue: St Agnes Parish Hall (behind church) Date: Monday 3 August 2026 Time 8:00-9:30pm Scheduled speakers include AA members who will share their experience of alcoholism and of their recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous. A speaker from the medical profession will speak on their interaction with AA and a speaker from Al Anon, a fellowship for families and friends who are affected by a loved one’s drinking.
