DAY OF PRAYER <\/b>for victims and survivors of abuse CANDLE OF ATONEMENT <\/b>Will take place on Friday 15th Feb in St Peter\u2019s Cathedral at the 10am Mass. Bishop Treanor will light the Diocesan Candle of Atonement, which has been blessed at Knock, and will also dedicate the Atonement Prayer for use in all Parishes of Down and Connor. After Mass there will be a Day of Prayer finishing with Vespers and Benediction at 7pm. Over the weekend of 16th\u201417th Feb Bishop Noel encourages us to light a Candle of Atonement in our own Parish and to continue to light it at the beginning of all Masses over the 23rd-24th Feb for the success of the Gathering of Bishops and Religious Superiors with Pope Francis in Rome to discuss the safeguarding of minors in the Church.<\/p>\n
CANDLE OF ATONEMENT PRAYER<\/b><\/p>\n
Lord, forgive us our many sins. We grieve and repent with all our hearts for having offended you, for our great failings and neglect of the young and vulnerable. We place all of those who have been hurt by the Church in any way into your loving hands and under the protection of Our Blessed Mother. Lord, bring peace to their broken lives and show us all the way out of darkness and into the light of your word. May we as the people of God be more fully human, more fully Christ-like and more fully your people, that we may see the errors of the past and go forward with renewed hope and faith in Christ and in our Church. Amen<\/b><\/p>\n
Candelight Rosary Procession <\/b>There will be a candlelight rosary procession to The Grotto, St. Mary\u2019s Church, Chapel Lane, Belfast on Monday 11th<\/sup>\u00a0February, at 8 p.m to pray for the sick on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and World Day of the Sick. The procession commences at the same time as the torchlight procession to the Grotto in Lourdes. \u00a0All welcome.
