\u201cWHY SUNDAY MATTERS\u201d<\/span> As we journey through this Jubilee Year of Hope, the Irish Bishops warmly invite all Catholics to re\ufb02ect on the immense signi\ufb01cance of Sunday Mass.\u00a0 The purpose of this message is to encourage you to reflect on what is special about Sunday and what it means to you, and, if you no longer attend, to consider returning to Mass. How can you enrich your experience of Mass and make it a central part of your life?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

FOODSTOCK<\/span> Our local foodbank continues to accept nonperishable food items eg canned food, Pasta etc in the entrance hall of the Church. Your donations make a big difference to local people in crisis. Thank you for your support.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL\u00a0<\/span> Let us keep our Parish Pastoral Council in our prayers, as they met last weekend. For the past three years, a small group from St Matthew\u2019s (Shankill) and St John\u2019s (Falls) have been working together to build friendship and understanding. Our journey began with a Corrymeela programme exploring the so-called Decade of Centenaries (1912\u20131922). This September, we\u2019re inviting you to join us for an \u201cunconference\u201d\u2014a gathering where you set the agenda. In our first session, we won\u2019t come with a fixed programme. Instead, we\u2019ll listen: What questions are on your mind? What matters most to you and your community? Together, we\u2019ll shape a plan and, in the weeks that follow, explore those agreed topics more deeply\u2014creating space for honest conversation, shared learning, and new connections.
