Season of Creation 1st<\/sup> September \u2013 4th<\/sup> October 2023: \u2018Let Justice and Peace Flow\u2019<\/em><\/mark><\/strong>.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Season is a wonderful opportunity to respond to the call of Pope Francis to listen to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. As the ecological crisis worsens our newsfeeds are filled with stories of devastation, particularly in the most vulnerable parts of the world. Creation cries out as forests burn, animals flee, lives are lost and people are forced to migrate. The theme for this year\u2019s Season is inspired by the Prophet Amos who cries out: \u201cLet justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!<\/em>\u201d (Amos 5: 24). The symbol is that of a \u2018mighty river\u2019: \u201cListen carefully, I am about to do a new thing. I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.<\/em>\u201d (Isaiah 43:19). As we join the river of justice and peace with others then hope is created instead of despair, \u201cfor we know that things can change!\u201d (Laudato Si\u2019, 13).\u00a0To mark the closing of the Season of Creation a special\u00a0Prayer Service\u00a0will be held in\u00a0St Agnes\u2019 Church\u00a0on\u00a0Wednesday 4 October @ 7pm.\u00a0Parishioners from the Pastoral Community are welcome to attend<\/strong><\/mark>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PRAYER FOR A NEW SCHOOL YEAR  <\/mark>Gracious God, as the summer begins to fade, new possibilities lie on the horizon. Bless all of those who are beginning or returning to their roles as teachers as well as those who lead and support students by their efforts. May this school year be a time of grace and potential as they teach, share, and challenge others to grow in faith, knowledge and wisdom. Bless the children and youth, along with their parents, as they begin a new school year. May their minds be open to learning and to the wonder of discovery and insight. Be with us as we embark on this new school year. Amen.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Day Lough Derg Pilgrimage Saturday 23rd<\/sup> September 2023<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Living Church Office are organising a one-day pilgrimage to Lough Derg as this is a One Day Retreat, fasting and walking barefooted is not required. Cost \u00a355 includes luxury coach transfers, tea, coffee & scones on arrival, retreat day, light lunch, concluding with celebration of the Eucharist.  Bus departs 7am From St Patrick\u2019s Church, Donegall Street.
