Following announcements on Thursday 7th January 2021 all Public Worship has been stopped.<\/span><\/h3>\n

In St Agnes’ Parish Fr Thomas will continue to celebrate Mass but behind closed doors as instructed by the Diocese. \u00a0These Masses will be broadcast on the Parish Radio and Fr Thomas will keep us informed of any further developments.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Church will be open for private prayer from 10.30am until 2pm.<\/span>
\n When visiting the Church it is necessary to sanitize hands,<\/span>
\n wipe the seats \u00a0and follow the one-way system.<\/span>
\n The wearing of face masks is COMPULSORY in the Church.<\/span><\/h3>\n

MIDWEEK MASS<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0:<\/span> <\/strong>Monday \u2013 Friday @ 10am<\/span><\/p>\n

CONFESSION:<\/span><\/strong> Has been suspended.<\/span><\/p>\n

PERSONAL PRAYER:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Monday – Sunday, 10.30am – 2pm. NB Adoration has been suspended for this current period.<\/span><\/p>\n

FUNERALS:<\/span><\/strong> Will continue to be limited to 25 people INCLUDING PRIEST & MUSICIANS<\/strong>, with no pre- or postfuneral gatherings.<\/span><\/p>\n

WEDDINGS:<\/span> <\/strong>Will continue to be limited to 25 people.<\/span><\/p>\n

BAPTISMS:<\/strong><\/span> Will continue to be limited to Parents and Godparents only<\/span><\/p>\n

Come and see<\/span><\/h3>\n

There is a Brazilian proverb used when a visitor is leaving one\u2019s home: \u2018Whoever drinks of this water keeps coming back\u2019. Offering a beverage such as a cup of water or tea to a visitor is a universal gesture of welcome and hospitality. Today we hear how Jesus invites two of his disciples to \u2018come and see\u2019 where he lives. He welcomes them into his home and they stay with him for the rest of the day, undoubtedly eating and drinking and conversing with him. Jesus\u2019 invitation is simple, yet intimate. We don\u2019t know where he lived or what his living arrangements were, but we know he wanted his friends to spend time with him and get to know him. This precious early time with Jesus must have set his friends up for a lifetime of discipleship. We too are invited to \u2018come and see\u2019, to spend time with the Scriptures and in prayer to get to know Jesus. He welcomes us with open arms.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As we reflect on the inviting love of Jesus, we are also encouraged to extend a warm welcome to others in a spirit of friendship. Pope Francis has often spoken of our responsibility, as individuals, communities and church, to welcome everyone \u2013 including those who are homeless or who have been forced to leave their home or country. Our welcome is a response to the Lord\u2019s supreme commandment to love the other, the stranger, as ourselves. We all have opportunities to do this in our communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018Every stranger who knocks at our door is an opportunity for an encounter with Jesus Christ, who identifies with the welcomed and rejected strangers of every age.\u2019<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
