PARISH OFFICE\u00a0W<\/span><\/b><\/span>ish to advise parishioners that where possible, we will ask you not to enter the parish house\/office to protect us and you. If you do need to enter the parish Office, we will ask you to please wear a mask and you will also need to sign in and leave your details for track and tracing purposes. This also applies for those entering the Church.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

PARISH BULLETIN\u00a0<\/span>Our parish bulletin cannot be printed and given out yet but we have started to produce one that will be on the website weekly. There will also be a copy on the notice board in the porch<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

LOST PROPERTY<\/span>\u00a0Parishioners are advised that property left behind in the Church ( Gloves, Glasses, Umbrellas etc) will be kept in the Sacristy for two weeks. After the two week period any unclaimed items will be sensibly disposed of, either to a Charity or recycled. Please check within this period if you think you may have left\/ lost anything in the Church. Thankyou<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Visiting Hospital<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0<\/b>All visiting across all Southern Trust hospitals and sites has been suspended for the time being. The Trust is encouraging virtual visits, e.g, through smartphones, tablets, etc. Those who might need help setting this up can contact the Virtual Visiting Co-ordinator on 07776516419, from 9am \u2013 5pm daily. Emergency, on-call chaplaincy cover remains in place.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

During the recent \u2018lockdown\u2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people found themselves turning to nature. There was a surge of interest in gardening. We tended to flower beds, planted seeds, started herb gardens. Lots of people commented that they noticed the birds singing for the first time in years. In the midst of challenging times, we found ourselves tuning in to the wonder of God\u2019s creation all around us.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As life begins to return to \u2018normal\u2019, can we retain this sense of wonder and awe? In this Season of Creation, we are invited to discover the presence of God in creation, to give thanks for the gift of the earth, and to change our ways so that we may live in harmony with creation. This requires us to be constantly conscious of how we are living \u2013 to not just have good intentions but to follow through in our actions.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In today\u2019s gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the two sons who are asked to go and work in their father\u2019s vineyard. The first son initially refuses, but then thinks better of it and gets to work. While the second son has good intentions, he doesn\u2019t follow through. When it comes to caring for the earth, good intentions are not enough. Our actions matter. We may have been careless in the past but a change of heart is happening, right across our society. It all starts with our actions, as individuals and communities. As we emerge from a challenging few months, let us use the Season of Creation to reflect on how we can do better \u2013 to reconnect with God\u2019s beautiful creation and do all we can to love and preserve it.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
