MIGRANT COLLECTION 2026 The Council for Migrants, Refugees and Justice and Peace thanks dioceses for supporting the Migrants Collection in 2025. The collection will take place again on St Patrick’s Day 2026. This Collection will help support migrants in Ireland and Irish people living abroad. As Pope Leo XIV reminds us in his Message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2025, the presence of migrants among us is “a true divine blessing… Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it” (Heb 13:2).

The Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 1 April at 12 noon in St Peter’s Cathedral Belfast.  This Mass is a celebration of the entire Christian Community in Down & Connor.  Bishop Alan extends an invitation to all the faithful to attend as a family in faith gathered with the Bishop, priests and deacons of the Diocese.  United by Baptism as the children of God, we will celebrate our shared call to serve the Lord.

Christians from all denominations will gather at Saint Patrick’s grave in Downpatrick at 5:45 am, 17th March, to pray The Our Father/ Lord’s Prayer, one hundred times for peace and unity in Christ. Everyone welcome. Please spread the word and consider organising a Saint Patrick’s Dawn Prayer Gathering in your own area – For a straightforward guide contact legacyofsaintpatrick@gmail.com
