Sunday of the Word of God 2026 will be celebrated this Sunday January 25, 2026, the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, with the theme “The word of Christ dwells among you” (Colossians 3:16). Instituted by Pope Francis in 2019, this day highlights the central role of Sacred Scripture in Christian life. It encourages Catholics to read, learn, pray and share God’s Word helping us deepen our faith and place the Bible at the heart of the Church and daily life.
RISE & SHINE – this collection will be held on the weekend of 21st/22nd February. Your support will help make it possible for children to travel to Lourdes this Easter.

St Brigid’s Day Lecture 2026 To mark the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, Pope Leo XVI highlighted the Nicene Creed as a profound bond uniting all Christians. This year’s St Brigid’s Day Lecture will be given by Fr Tom Layden, S.J.

De La Salle College Receives Spirit of Catholic Education Award 2026
De La Salle College has been honoured with the Spirit of Catholic Education Award 2026 as part of Catholic Schools’ Week. The award was presented at a special ceremony held in St Mary’s University College on 21 January by Bishop Alan McGuckian, in recognition of the school’s commitment to nurturing the spiritual and prayer life of its community. This year’s theme reflected the Jubilee Year of Hope and the call to “fan the flame of faith.”. Congratulations to all staff and students for their dedication to living out the values and spirit of Catholic education.
