“ Trócaire is working through Church networks in West Africa to tackle the spread of the Ebola virus and to support those affected by the crisis. The agency’s initial response is focused on raising awareness of how to reduce the risk of infection. Trócaire is also helping to provide food and counselling to families affected by the virus. The region is likely to experience food shortages over the coming months as a result of the disruption to the planting and harvesting seasons. Trócaire will be assisting communities to overcome food shortages in the months ahead. People in Ireland can support this work by donating on trocaire.org or by phoning 1850 408 408 (RoI) or 0800 912 1200 (NI).”
