St Agnes Walking Club: The AGM will take place on Tuesday 23rd September 7.30pm in St Agnes’ Parish Centre. New members are offered the opportunity to sample three walks free of charge before paying the annual membership fee of £5 per annum which is collected at our AGM in September. We meet every Saturday morning at 10.30am and every Monday evening at 6.15pm at Andersonstown Leisure Centre. The walker should wear comfortable clothes and suitable shoes that are appropriate to the weather conditions.
There will be a promotion of Parish Eucharistic Adoration at all Masses this weekend. There will be a meeting at the Parish Centre on Monday 15th September at 7.00pm to organise the initial group of adorers and committee members. All interested in helping with this important apostolate are welcome to come along to the meeting.

Whats on Locally…
NI Healthcare Chaplains’ Association (NIHCA) Hospital visitor’s course will run for 10 weeks beginning Thurs 18th September from 7.30-9.30pm at Edgehill College, Belfast. The course is aimed at lay people who are interested in hospital visitation, either within the local church context, or who already visit hospitals as part of their church responsibilities. ‘Mercy Prayer Centre provides an opportunity to deepen your relationship with God through scripture prayer and silent adoration. Monday 11am Lectio divina, 2pm intercessory Prayer , Tuesday 2-4pm Silent Adoration, Wednesday 8pm we prepare Sunday readings. Everyone welcome

Festival of Flowers: To celebrate the 5th Centenary of the birth of St. Teresa of Avila\ (28th March 1515) A Festival of Flowers, based on her life and work will take place in the Church of St. Teresa of Avila, Glen Road, Belfast, from the 11th-13th October 2014 (11am-4pm) Everyone welcome. Refreshments available in the Parish Centre.

Faith & Life Convention 2014. Arising from the Diocesan Pastoral Plan our first Faith & Life Convention will take place on Saturday 20th September 2014 in Our Lady and Saint Patrick’s College, Knock under the title: ”˜Living the faith to make a difference’.The keynote speaker for the day will be John Allen Jr (Religion Correspondent of the Boston Globe) There will be an opportunity for a panel discussion and an essential element of the day will be the afternoon workshops which will explore the place of faith in many different areas of our lives. Chernobyl Children Appeal: We are a locally based Charity offering children living in the areas most heavily contaminated by the radioactive fallout a respite holiday, helping them recover from the effects of the disaster. The short time they spend with us greatly improves their health and offers a tremendous boost to their immune system.
