Masses

Masses are continuing on our normal schedule and we thank those who have been coming to clean the Church seats and carpets.  We also thank those helping to facilitate the congregation in following the present health procedures.  Those attending Mass must also be complimented on how they follow the procedures – especially the one-way system to enter and exit the Church and the row-by-row Holy Communion procession.
As those attending Mass will be aware, more volunteers are needed to help out both at Masses and with the cleaning of the Church.  Those willing to assist are asked to give their names to the sacristan or to the Parish Office.

UPDATED RECOMMENDATION

FACE COVERINGS IN CHURCHES

The Church leaders, including Archbishop Eamon Martin, following recent consultations with public health authorities, are formally recommending and encouraging the use of face coverings at all Masses and other liturgical celebrations, along with the ongoing maintenance of 2 metre physical distancing, from Sunday 30^th August 2020, and earlier if practicable.

It should however be noted that some people are exempt from the wearing of face coverings, as outlined in public health agency guidance: https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/coronavirus-covid-19-face-coverings

It has become increasingly clear that the wearing of face coverings, in conjunction with hand washing etc, is likely to reduce the spread of Coronavirus, thus helping to protect others. The use of face coverings is therefore one way in which we can evidence protection for the most vulnerable, support for our health workers and practical love for our neighbour.

First Holy Communion Will be held this year on Saturday & Sunday 3rd & 4th October ( Sat 3rd October @  10.00am & 12noon) ( Sunday 4th October @ 11am) Please remember the Children in your prayers.

Accord Marriage Preparation. Courses are available to book online, please check www.accord.ie and select a place and time. If you have booked a wedding ceremony in the parish, you are expected to have completed a preparation course.

EXAM RESULTSWe offer our prayerful support to all our students who have received or have yet to receive their examination results.

A prayer for young people.. May they always have love in their lives. May they have parents and other adults who are generous with their guidance and mentoring. May they always have a place to call home. May they always have friendships to sustain and support them. May they always treasure their school years and future opportunities to develop their gifts and talents. May they always have someone to listen to them, May they always have faith (even if they fall away from it for a time as young people sometimes do). May they never take life for granted. Amen

GROWTH IN PRAYER AND REFLECTIVE LIVING Drumalis, commencing Monday 14 September (online by Zoom). The course will give you the tools and space to become attuned to God’s voice in the midst of the clamour. Mondays, 7 pm – 9:30 pm, the course will take place initially by Zoom and eventually in-house when Drumalis re-opens. Also possible to attend the whole series by Zoom if this is your preference.
