Dear Pilgrim

Easter, or Holy Week, the most sacred time of the year is also a very special time for pilgrims. Many shrines and destinations host important religious events and ceremonies, as the Christian world commemorates the Passion of Christ.

This week, our travel team has selected a range of travel ideas and suggestions for your Easter Pilgrimage.

EASTER PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES

We have two Easter pilgrimage tours to Lourdes: a 3-night tour to spend the Easter Weekend at the shrine and a 4-night tour departing on Easter Monday.

Our classic pilgrimage to Lourdes follows a detailed programme organised by the Joe Walsh Tours team and led by our knowledgeable team in Lourdes led by Fionnuala Brua and Caroline Trainor.

During the pilgrimage, pilgrims will visit the Grotto, Baths, Basilicas and follow the Stations of the Cross. They will also take part in the striking processions such as the evening Torchlight Marian procession.

A guided walking tour of Lourdes also takes pilgrims to the places associated with the life of Saint Bernadette.

LOURDES EASTER MONDAY

audato Si’ – grounding the teaching in our everyday lives

Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ highlights the beauty of the earth and our role as stewards of this great gift of creation.

To care for our common home there are many changes that we all need to make and the first change is a change of heart, an ecological conversion.

Join Prof John Barry, Fr Tim Bartlett and Rev Cheryl Meban in conversation as they explore Laudato Si’ and how we can each embrace change in our everyday lives to care for the earth.

You can be attend in person on Thursday 24th Feb at 7pm in St John’s Church, Falls Road.  Parking available and venue on main bus route.  Online viewing via parish webcam www.stjohnsfallsroad.org
